Come learn what inclusive housing is, why it's important and how we can make it happen in the Triangle!

Participants will understand how affordable, inclusive community models work for people of all ages and abilities.

Join HOPE North Carolina at our first Inclusive Housing Summit, where we explore inclusive, affordable housing that meets the needs of people of all ages and abilities: especially the need to belong. You'll hear from our keynote speakers, who together bring decades of experience in the development of inclusive housing and in creating communities of belonging.

Keynote Speakers:

Micaela Connery, Co-founder and CEO of The Kelsey, has been dedicated to inclusive community development her entire life. Her Co-founder and cousin Kelsey, continues to inspire and inform the mission and work today. Micaela has seen firsthand the housing crisis facing adults with disabilities and their families and will speak about the importance of disability forward housing and how they have grown this movement in California.

Erik Carter, Professor Emeritus of Vanderbilt University, will share a practical framework for reflecting upon and fostering belonging within the communities that matter most to the individuals with disabilities whom we serve and love. You will gain fresh insights into the ways you can encourage change within communities that still too often struggle to widen their welcome.
