Give all people a chance to live purposeful lives in the community
We've met so many people who are struggling with isolation which results in poorer physical and mental health. People with intellectual and developmental disabilities and older adults are especially vulnerable to social isolation. HOPE is creating communities where all are needed--and we are doing it now before we ever open the doors to our first community.
We are starting with piloting our Community Facilitator position in an inter-generational, inclusive community in Durham. We are working to integrate adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities into a housing development in process of being built by 2024. We plan to build a HOPE community from the ground up by 2028.
